Waiting on Wednesday 1/16/13 (34)

Waiting on Wednesday is an awesome meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights the upcoming books I am currently anticipating.
*****
Hello gumdrops!! Today's Wednesday, and most of you know what that means, but for those who don't, it's Waiting on Wednesday time!!!! There are so many good books that have yet to come out, and I will only be highlighting one, sadly.
Today's feature is:

The Ward

The Ward
by Jordana Frankel
Publication: April 30th, 2013 by Katherine Tegen Books
Sixteen-year-old Ren is a daredevil mobile racer who will risk everything to survive in the Ward, what remains of a water-logged Manhattan. To save her sister, who is suffering from a deadly illness thought to be caused by years of pollution, Ren accepts a secret mission from the government: to search for a freshwater source in the Ward, with the hope of it leading to a cure.
However, she never expects that her search will lead to dangerous encounters with a passionate young scientist; a web of deceit and lies; and an earth-shattering mystery that’s lurking deep beneath the water’s rippling surface.
Jordana Frankel’s ambitious debut novel and the first in a two-book series, The Ward is arresting, cinematic, and thrilling—perfect for fans of Scott Westerfeld or Ann Aguirre.

EEEP!!! This sounds like a great dystopian novel! And that cover is KICK.ASS. Seriously!! Just look at it! The whole city drenched in overflowing waters, it seems so realistic O_O And I especially like how the girl's in the A at the top and how the letters are like clouds or something..ha ha...yah, I just had a major cover-gasm, LOL. Anyway, aside from the cover, the book itself sounds kick-ass as well! This shows great promise :D I can't wait to get it!

  3. The cover is very much like the photos of Manhattan during Sandy. The surge coming up and over both the Hudson and East Rivers.
